Addiction

I (usually) like my music loud and obnoxious just like my kids do. I have two kids, a son and daughter, whom I love more than life itself. But I also have other kids who I unofficially have adopted into our lives as well.

I am single for the most part. I am open-minded and generally openhearted.

I tend to hold people in general dislike though, but usually only in large groups. I love going to concerts but hate the crowds.. LOL.. what an oxymoron to say, but true.

I love my sobriety. It is the best thing that has happened to me in a very long time. I enjoy every day and look forward to my day for the first time in my life. I first stepped into the "halls" of NA in 1983. I came and went until 1989, then left until 2003. Then I went back briefly and left again until Feb. of 2007, when I honestly tried to become sober.

I didn't achieve that until April of 2007, but I finally did with the help of the people in NA, my goddess and the sheer stubborness and love my kids have for me.

So many profound things have happened already in 2008, I can't even count...but I know for today, I am clean and sober...I know at this moment, I am who I am because of what I did before this moment in time. And because of those very moments they led me to where I am today and I would SO rather be here than where I COULD be!

Wow 2009.... I am going to be a grandmother very shortly here. My Son and his soon to be wife are due for their first child at the end of April. We are all very excited! New beginnings are just wonderful! And some things are coming to an end as well. My spiritual group is breaking off but two of us are staying here to form a seperate group, so that is a positive thing.

On April 27th, 2009 at 5:16pm I became a very proud Grandma!!!!! My son and his fiance' had a very healthy, 8lb., 20" baby boy!!!!

Wow, 2009 came and went. Many, many wonderful things happened in 2009 that I count as blessings and many bad things happened that I pass off as lessons learned. And now 2010 and on my way to 3 years clean. I never thought in all my years I would see this. But I'm counting each day as a blessing in disguise.

2010 came in harsh for me, but all I have to do is look at my precious grandson and know that it was worth every moment. I take every moment I can with him because I never know when I won't have that moment anymore. Each day is a new beginning for me. You lose some and win some. Today I am winning. Which is it for you?

Intelligent conversation; anything that has to do with the outdoors like camping or fishing or hiking, spiders; being behind the camera; spending as much time as I can with my kids; GMing AD&D for my kids and anyone else who wants to play; spending time with my friends; spending time with my cat, Odin, when he wants attention from me.. LOL.
