I am a 35-year-old recovering addict with 3 kids, a steady job, and an incredible network of supportive friends. I consider myself one of the luckiest people alive, even though last year was one of the worst years for me. I lost my grandmother in December of '06, my ex-husband and father of my son died of a drug overdose in May of '07, and my mother passed away in December of '07. I relapsed after my mother died, but I consider it one of the best things to ever happen to me. It showed me what I was doing wrong in my program and opened my mind and my eyes to many things I refused to see before. I have a renewed energy for Narcotics Anonymous now. My hope and faith in my Higher Power, this program, in the people in the program who I consider my best friends and assets, and in myself have never been better.

Reading, going to meetings, spending time with my kids, watching TV, talking to friends, surfing the net, and hanging out with others in recovery.

I try my best not to dislike people, places, or things. I do, however, pray the most for those people who are closed-minded and refuse to accept those whose beliefs differ from their own. We should all concentrate on our similarities and not our differences.
