I am single and live in Brooklyn NY. My sobriety is the most important thing in my life, without it everything else is lost. My family is very important to me. Probably because I was so lost from them for so many years I try not to take them for granted now. I am starting my life all over again, I'm happy to have the chance.
I thought I would add a little bit of my story...I started drinking when I was 12...besides tasting Dad's beer. Once I was in high school it was on!! Pot,Qualudes,coke,angel dust,acid,mescaline & anything else we could get our hands on. I got a job at about 16 and have worked ever since. I chose not to go to college...took me years to admit I was too busy partying to even consider it. The older I got the harder I partied. Angel dust became the drug of choice. There were lots of fun times. I had a large group of friends that grew up together & a large amount of us became addicts. We had a local bar that we all hung out at. We went on vacations, went to concerts & celebrated holidays & milestones...births, weddings. Then stuff started happening...car wrecks,arrests,deaths. There was surveillance on the bar & certain peoples phones, because of course some of us had started dealing to support ever growing habits. Everyone of us has some sort of scar from wild dust trips. I buried more friends than I can count & 2 men I loved very much. I was in a really bad car wreck in '92 & arrested at least 5 times. About this time crack entered the picture. In the late '90's I discovered Heroin & it was all over, within in 6 months I was putting more than $150 a day in my arm. I OD'd 3 times in one year & when to 7 different detoxes. I'm a thick head. But I finally got it in march 2004. I went out on St Patty's Day...came home 2 days later...haven't used since. It was like a switch went off in my head, I was dying & it was time to live. It isn't always easy but well worth it!! My legal problems are behind me, I will always have job issues because of it. Nothing I can't work around. I have my family back. I was my sister's Maid of Honor and I have not missed a holiday, birthday or family gathering since I'm clean. I am putting my life back together and today I have hope that it is possible.
Too Many to Name!! I love horror movies(especially vampire). Some of my fav actors are: Al Pacino,Vin Diesel,Sammuel L Jackson,Paul Walker,Jack Nicholson & so many more.
