yesterday I started my first job sober.. i was really nervous, scared and a little triggered by it. I have never worked a job completely sober before and thought how am i going to handle this?? I've never worked sober before.. I have always gotten high before I did work.. this is going to be so freaking weird! well my first day couldn't have gone any smoother.. I made some really good connections with the people I work with, I learned part of my job that they were training me on yesterday rather quickly. I think they were a little surprised at how quickly I picked it up. I know i was. I am a little nervous about how many hours they have me working right off the bat.. but i do realize that they are only getting me to work this much because one of the girls that worked there quit and they had to make up the shifts she would have been working. so the chances of me having to continue to work this much are fairly slim once they get someone else hired.. it is just until then that I have to work 2 weeks straight of 8 hour shifts. I am hoping they hire someone else quickly because I can't imagine working this much if a good portion of my shifts are going to be graveyards.. that is a major trigger for me. In my addiction it was sleep all day party all night. That is if I actually slept.. I just keep praying to my HP that this will all work out in the end.. to give me strength & courage to get past the parts that seem to hard for me and the wisdom to know when to say its too much.

Good luck to you. I'm glad your first day went well. I'm looking for work now. I'm a little scared too! It will be my first also since I'm clean. I'm scared of that first paycheck and that first friday. A big trigger for me is that friday reward. But I will go to a meeting and work it out. I have had alot of firsts in 3 1/2 years. Congratulations & Enjoy your accomplishments. ~Theresa~
