I did a lot of damage in my using of alcohol and drugs. My using took me to some dark places that I prefer not to revisit. Toward the end, I was putting myself in danger of a certain death if I didn't stop using. God inspired me to reach out to NA to stop my insanity. I am truly grateful for the life I have today, a life which would not be possible without NA.
Before I began drug use, I was introduced to AA. I was sent to a recovery house from a mental health agency. The things I heard there came back to me at my moment of crisis. I am also grateful to AA for providing the beginning of my journey to recovery.
Life in recovery is rewarding now. I am seeing the promises of the program in my life. Some things are; being free from the compulsion to use, being able to plan my life without obsessing over getting my next high, and being able to share the message of the hope that has been given to me.

The lifestyle associated with actively using alcohol and drugs. Selfish people, liars, cheats, and thieves.
